Balaji's Last Over : Nightmare For Knights

Yesterday, Kolkata Knight Riders lost the match at Eden Gardens; Mumbai Indians won the match practically for the required 21 runs, came from the last over of Balaji's ball. And by this way, MI snatched the match from the hand of KKR. So, it may be called, Balaji's last over : nightmare for Knights. Kolkata Knight Riders will now face difficulties to reach final. They have to face Mumbai Indians again on 25 May in Mumbai and to win to play final which is not easy. -- A. B.

Exhibition Of Musical Instruments At Indian Museum In Kolkata

Once upon a time, musical instruments used to export in Japan through China and Korea. Again, a few instruments came from Iran and Afghanistan. As a result, Indian heritage of musical instruments enriched. Many music lovers of Bengal stepped forward to preserve musical instruments. Raja of Pathuriaghata - Sir Sourindra Mohan Thakur was one of them. In the year 1875, Sourindra Mohan, Jatindra Mohan and Rani Swarnamoyee gifted several musical instruments to Kolkata Museum. Amongst them, a few instruments of 'Bengali Band' played at the reception of 7th Edward, came to Kolkata as Prince Of Wales. We came to know from the book 'Universal History Of Music' (1896) by Sourindra Mohan that in the year 1878, at the time of his Japan tour, the then Emperor Mikado gifted him various musical instruments like flute, organ, harp, veena and drums of different sizes. Parks And Birds

Artificial lights of various parks of Kolkata overwhelming birds. Electric lights of about 50ft high posts snatching sleeps of birds. Hence, they are deciding to go elsewhere. The Mayor of Kolkata directed his officials to reorient the lights of parks. The birds who use to sleep in complete dark, feeling disturbed by the high power lights falling on trees and flying blindly to re-search their nests. So, Kolkata Municipal Corporation decided to install dimmer and 'timer' at the parks so that, high power lights will be off after 9pm and height of the posts will also be reduced. -- A. B.

IPL Match Delayed By Rain

IPL Cricket match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore being played in Bengaluru now stopped due to rain. It will possibly be started within 15 minutes. At the moment KKR scored 69 runs and lost 3 wickets. -- A. B.
