Bhawanipore Abasar Club is a very old club. On this 64th year, Abasar Club of 4A, Townsend Road, has adopted the theme "সৃষ্টি সুখের উল্লাসে"। Theme-maker Gouranga Kuilya is creating this theme by day-to-day common things, but when the making is being completed, they form grotesque human bodies engaging themselves playing drums, pipes etc to create music. So, creativity is the main attraction of this puja pandal. Durga idol made of 'jute' is another attraction here. -- A. B.

"দুর্গার বারোমাস্যা" is the theme of Telengabagan of north Kolkata. Theme-maker Ashish Chowdhury is making this theme to establish that, Ma Durga comes in Bengal in every month with different names. In fact, Kali, Jagadhatri, Chandi - all the forms we worship, are part of goddess Durga, according to Puran. On wooden structure, mandap of Bangla calendars is making. The idol of Debi Durga would be in the shape of calendar image. Bright, 15 nos of Benarasi sari will attract viewers; these are to decorate pandal. In fact, visitors will sure enjoy the uniqueness of Telengabagan's puja. -- A. B.

On this golden jubillee year, theme-maker Somnath Mukhopadhyay is creating the theme "ও আমার দেশের মাটি" for Bhawanipore 75 Pally. The art and crafts, agriculture, economics, social life - all the aspects of districts in Bengal are being made here by clay and mud. The entire puja pandal would be made by mud. In a word, during Durga puja, the Bengal would be a single district, and that would be at 75 Pally with traditional idol of Debi Durga. -- A. B.

"অমৃত সুধারস" is the theme of Barisha Club where young theme-maker Pradip Das is creating the theme where cow is called 'Go-mata'. Cow-milk can be compared to 'amrit' sudha owing to its nutritional value. The simplicity of a common mother would be on the image of Debi Durga too... the idols will be in a sea-shell, artificial though. Clay artist Parimal pal is creating the idol of goddess Durga. -- A.
