Mahalaya : Tarpan

Today's Mahalaya - the end of Pittri-paksha, and the beginning of
Debi-paksha. People across Kolkata gathered at bathing ghats of river
Ganga and performed the rituals of Tarpan (the puja and homage paid to
late parents) in the morning.
