'Pather Panchali' but his original name is Kanu Bandyopadhyay. He
acted in many more Bengali films apart from Ray. But, for the first
time, on his 108 birthday, a statue would be inaugurated on 20 June,
2012 by Sandip Roy - the son of Satyajit Ray. Sutanuti Book Fair
Committee and Kanu Bandyopadhyay Smaran Samity are jointly responsible
for this venture. On the said day, at 6 pm, the statue would be
unveiled at Banamali Chatterjee Street of Tala.
