Indian foods very cheap yet tasty. The century-old lane marked for
only foods is one of the places of interest.
The lane is recently renamed as James Hickey Sarani. On 29 January, in
the year 1780, that is, 23 years after battle of Plassey, James
augustus Hickey took the venture to publish first Indian newspaper
'Bengal Gazette' from Kolkata. To pay respect Hickey, Kolkata
Municipal Corporation renamed Deckers Lane as James Hickey Sarani.
