class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> On the day of Uttam Kumar's 43rd death anniversary, i.e. from 24th July'22 a weeklong film festival of his popular films is being organised at Nandan 1,2,3 upto 30th July'22.  Total 14 films of Uttam Kumar will be screened, two films each day. The festival is being organised by Shilpi Sangsad to help poor technicians. Mural Painting In Kolkata Tribute To Kumartuli

wall of CESC Patuli substation has been painted to represent and highlight the work of the artisans of Kumartuli — creating a strikingly vibrant image that compels passers-by to stop and take notice. It is a 75-feet mural - the tallest of Kolkata. The mural was created by Pune-based artist Afzan Pirzade and commissioned by St+art India (an organisation that creates public art projects), in partnership with Asian Paints, in December 2021. “St+art India had run an online campaign asking people to volunteer naked walls that could be beautified. Durga Puja of Kolkata just indexed in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in the 16-members meeting of UNESCO held in Paris yesterday. Century Old 'Khunti Mela' At Chandannagar

year on 'Shukla Ashtami tithi' (শুক্লা অষ্টমী তিথি) of Bengali month 'Agrahayan' (অগ্রহায়ণ), an ancient fair or 'mela' is organised in the area of Goswami Ghat (গোস্বামীঘাট) of Chandannagar. It is called Khunti Mela. This year, 11th December is the day, when the fair will start. /> On the said day, the annual puja of Radhaballav Jiu (রাধাবল্লভ জিউ) is held there. Jagadish Goswami (জগদীশ গোস্বামী) was the 'Parshod' (পার্শ্বদ) of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (শ্রীচৈতন্য মহাপ্রভু).  Mahaprabhu Shri Chaitanya Dev had given him a cooking spud (খুন্তি) made of brass and silver as a gift. The spud was fixed on a stand.
