Today, the last day of 1417 - Bangla year. On this day, Charak Puja or Gajon celebration throughout rural Bengal (including Kolkata) can be seen. It is being observed with festivity. Today, as the Choitra sankranti, the month-long 'brata' was completed and after the rituals of worshiping Lord Shiva - the devoted pilgrims taking pain on their bodies as we can see in the pictures here.
