R D BURMAN - Born In Kolkata

R D Burman
was born in Kolkata on 27 June, 1939. His full name is Rahul Dev Burman. He was the only son of great music composer and singer Sachin Dev Burman. R D Burman was known by his nick name Pancham. He was a ;      Since 1960 to 1990 he had composed so many super hit songs for Hindi film industry in Mumbai. He also sang and composed many Bengali songs both for Bengali films and basic records. Asha Bhosle will be remembered ever by the Bangla song lovers for her basic Bengali songs composed by her husband Pancham ;      Pancham da used to love music and songs since childhood. His parents encouraged him to learn various instruments and love songs. "Hai Apna Dil To Awara" - in this song by Hemant Kumar, R D B played the unforgettable mouth organ in so young ;       In his film career of about thirty years, Pancham da composed songs for 331 films. The Bollywood films will ever remember the outstanding contribution of Pancham da for his compositions - from "Bhoot Banglow" to "1942 A Love Story" - a musical journey of a life full of liveliness, dedication and enthusiasm for music. The great singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar will be remembered also for the excellent songs composed by R D Burman.

        This great music composer lasts his breath only at the age of 54 on 4th January, 1994. And we lost a wonderful person forever.

It says that Nimai Sri Chaitannya Deb once came to district Hooghly for the pilgrimage of Tarakeswar. So he bathed in river Ganga on the bathing ghat of Baidyabati. Then had started his journey to Tarakeswar on foot. It took about 12 hours to reach Tarakeswar. Later, the bathing ghat was named on him and now known to all as Nimai Tirtha Ghat. Kripamoyee Kali Mandir Of Baranagar

Kripamoyee Kali Mandir of Baranagar, popularly known as Joy Mitra Kali Bari, is situated on the bank of river Hooghly at Baranagar of Kolkata. Baranagar is a very old place, more than 500 years ago this place was existed.  Famous zaminder Joyram Mitra of Sovabazar established this temple in mid-April of the year 1851. He bought about 3 bighas land at Baranagar from some James saheb and established the temple there similar to Brahmamoyee Kali temple of Mulajor of Shyamnagar.The goddess here is Dakshina Kali (দক্ষিণা কালী). If you walk from 'Kuthi ghat' of Baranagar river bank a few steps ahead, you'll reach to the temple - 171 years old this temple is situated by the side of Hara Kumar Thakur Strand.
