19th European Film Festival

Voices Of Youth - 19th European Film Festival organised by Cine
Central Kolkata, will be held at Nandan 2 from 13 June '14 to 19 June
'14 and European Union, Nandan & Cine Central jointly venture this
festival. 'Voices Of Youth' is the theme of this international film
festival. Youth is the other name of revolution, they have the dream
to fulfil, they've ambition, joy, happiness, sorrows, loneliness,
pride and plight, fear, hopes and hopelessness... so, the films of
this festival will depict those feelings, those ups & downs of youth.
Love Like Poison, Fresh Air, You & I etc are the prominent films of
this festival. Films of 18 countries like Austria, Denmark, Finland,
Italy, Lithuania, France would be screened at this festival. 19
award-winning films will be showed here. 'On The Sly' - the movie from
Belgium would be the inaugural film.

500 Year's Old Nimai Tirtha Ghat - Reminiscences Of Sri Chaitannya Deb

It says that Nimai Sri Chaitannya Deb once came to district Hooghly for the pilgrimage of Tarakeswar. So he bathed in river Ganga on the bathing ghat of Baidyabati. Then had started his journey to Tarakeswar on foot. It took about 12 hours to reach Tarakeswar. Later, the bathing ghat was named on him and now known to all as Nimai Tirtha Ghat. So, the ghat is about 500 year's old. Kabikankan Mukundaram mentioned this ghat in his mangal kabya, about 400 years ago. Raja Harishchandra of Seoraphuly constructed Nistarini Mandir and Bhadrakali Mandir in the year 1827 beside NimaiTirtha Ghat. then, lakhs of pilgrims take bath on river Ganga from this ghat and take holy water, visit Ma Nistarini and Debi Bhadrakali near, then use to go for Tarakeswar on foot to pour that Gangajal on the shiblinga of Baba Taraknath.
