Nistarini Kali Of Bethun Row & Dayamayi Kali Of College Square

The first picture (left) is of Nistarini Kali. Once upon a time, a
rich man of Simla area, named Krishna Chandra Singha made an idol of
goddess Kali resembled to Bhabatarini of Dakshineswar temple from
Varanasi. But he was unable to establish the idol for various reasons
and handed over to his neighbour Ishwar Chandra Naan. Ishwar Chandra
built Nabaratna Temple at 25, Bethun Row and established that idol of
Nistarini Kali on the day of Rathyatra in the year 1865. Every year,
on this day, Kali puja is being performed here by the effort of The
Ishwar Chandra Naan Debottar Trust.

The second picture (right) is of Dayamayi Kali. It is one of the
oldest of Kolkata situated at Radhanath Mullick Lane near College
Square. In the year 1771, on the day of Jagadhatri puja, one
Guruprasad Bandyopadhyay established this idol of Dakshina Kali made
of black stone. The temple is of 'Dalan' style. The wall of temple
engraved these words - "শ্রীশ্রী দয়াময়ী / সন ১১৭৮ / শ্রীগুরুপ্রসাদ তরে
হেরি দিগম্বরী"। No sacrifices of animals are being done here.
