95 years old Bagbazar Durga puja is famous for traditional idols. But
this year a chandelier of 250 white bulbs would be the main
attraction. 12 feet wide and 15 feet high this chandelier has its top
square, and the lower portion became narrow gradually.
The pandal is the replica of Mysore's Jal Mahal, blend of white and
ghee colour. কদ বেল, আমড়া have been used to decorate the pandal.
The puja committee has arranged 'annabhog' (অন্নভোগ) for all on the
day of Ashtami. The menu: খিচুড়ি, লাবড়া, ফুলকপির তরকারি, ধোকার ডালনা,
ছানার ডালনা, পোলাও, কয়েক রকমের ভাজা, পায়েস, রসগোল্লা আর সন্দেশ।The Hon'ble Governor will inaugurate the puja on the day of Panchami.
