International Anglo-Indian Reunion

After Australia, Kolkata would be the venue of International
Anglo-Indian Reunion. Next year, from 6 January to 12 January the
reunion will be held at various places of the city, but the inaugural
ceremony would be held at St Paul's Cathedral on the presence of about
2000 Anglo-Indians from around the world. The logo with mascot 'Budi
girl' of the event was inaugurated yesterday in the city by the
convenor of the festival committee.
Many Anglo-Indians left the city from Bo Barrack after independence
for many reasons. But, Kolkata is their birth place, so, they felt
urge to visit again Kolkata. They used to reside at Reapon Street,
Eliot Road, Park Street or Taltala area. Some of them became famous as
surgeon of Kolkata Police or centre forward of Hockey team. Hence,
Kolkata remained very close to their heart, always.
