Today is Mahalaya - the end of 'Pitri paksha' and beginning of 'Debi paksha'. So, the traditional rituals of 'Tarpan' witnessed the 'ghats' of river Ganga in Kolkata this morning. It is the custom of social religion to pay homage to late parents with holy water.
