Gajon celebration throughout rural Bengal (including Kolkata) can be
seen. It is being observed with festivity. Today, as the Choitra
sankranti, the month-long 'brata' was completed and after the rituals
of worshiping Lord Shiva - the devoted pilgrims taking pain on their
bodies as we can see in the pictures here. The crowd formed a mela or
fair indirectly.
