Durga Puja 2013 Of Behala-Thakurpukur Area

'Atho Lippon Katha' is the theme of this 29th year's Durga puja of
Barisha Tarun Tirtha. 'Lippon Kaam' in Gujarati means to dab with the
paste of mud and water. Rabari tribes of Kach area of Gujarat use to
prepare paste with the stool of camel and mud. Then the females of
this tribe use to dab the outer and inner walls of their house with
that paste and make beautiful images of birds, trees, peacocks and
humans. This art work would be the theme of this 29th year's Durga
puja of Barisha Tarun Tirtha, situated at Kalipada Mukherjee Road of
Behala Chowrasta (4 point crossing). White is the colour of this
Lippon art work of Gujarat. Hence, thick dab of white colour on the
idol of sand colour...and art work of glasses on it. On the back,
niche (কুলুঙ্গি), and inside it, lamp stand made of clay. Earrings
made of clay-pots on the ears of debi Durga... and there are no 'Asur'
(মহিষাসুর). Manik Das has made this clay idol of debi Durga. Tied
brickbats on the মানতবেদী of yard... Goutam Ghoshal has composed the
song of Rabari tribe's own culture with the help of instruments like
Madal, Morchang, Sehnai...

State Bank Park Sarbojanin of Thakurpukur Panchanantala is creating
"সিংহাসনে দশভুজা "। The pandal is like a throne. And the idol of debi
Durga would be with a suggestion of conqueror.

Central Government Housing of ParnashrI Behala is preparing their
golden jubilee year Durga puja with the theme - traditions of 40 years

64th years puja of Thakurpukur Club and their slogan is: "পুজোর মজা
সকাল সাঁঝে / দুগগা এল বাইশ গজে। " They're promoting the tradition of
cricket, through their puja.

It says that Nimai Sri Chaitannya Deb once came to district Hooghly for the pilgrimage of Tarakeswar. So he bathed in river Ganga on the bathing ghat of Baidyabati. Kripamoyee Kali Mandir Of Baranagar

Kripamoyee Kali Mandir of Baranagar, popularly known as Joy Mitra Kali Bari, is situated on the bank of river Hooghly at Baranagar of Kolkata. Baranagar is a very old place, more than 500 years ago this place was existed.  Famous zaminder Joyram Mitra of Sovabazar established this temple in mid-April of the year 1851. He bought about 3 bighas land at Baranagar from some James saheb and established the temple there similar to Brahmamoyee Kali temple of Mulajor of Shyamnagar.The goddess here is Dakshina Kali (দক্ষিণা কালী).
