Thousand Voice Of Tagore

An unprecedented event going to take place this evening in Kolkata. One thousand singers across Bengal will sing 27 songs of Rabindranath Tagore in chorus. Mohun Bagan Day

Mohun Bagan AC - the first football club of India won IFA Shield in the year 1911 on this day. Bagan defeated a European team East Yorkshire Regiment by 2 goals to 1 at CFC ground. The two goals scored for Mohun Bagan by Captain Shibdas Bhaduri and Abhilas Ghosh. The centenary celebration of shield winning was organised at Netaji Indoor Stadium this evening.-- A. B.

Today I was going to a village of rural Bengal to keep the invitation. At noon, clouds covered the sun and witnessed a fair spell of thundershower. After lunch, while I was returning home, watched a little girl was going in front of me with a school bag on her back. It was a calm afternoon after a spell of rains. And the doors of the rural houses and shops were shut. I felt the loneliness of the girl and the aloof surrounds. -- A. B.

'Rath Yatra' Festival Of Rural Bengal

This evening I went to a rural village named Nalikul, to watch the Rath Yatra festival. The evening was not so dry - drizzle, mud and humidity there. But kids alongwith elders joyfully enjoyed the journey of Lord Jagannath with cheers. Pulling the ropes of the chariot by the enthusiastic kids - amazing scene to watch indeed. A fair is there to enjoy the weeklong festival. -- A. B.
